What is it

An ad filmed on a screen the way a real user sees it: a laptop caught on a phone camera, a screen recording, a finger or pen pointing at what matters. It's how you make software look real. Point it at a dashboard, a revenue number, or the output the product actually produces.

What makes it work

  1. Put a human in the frame

A pen tapping the number, a hand scrolling, a creator in the corner. Without it you have a tech support video. The pointer also tells the eye where to look on a screen full of buttons.

  2. Lead with the money shot

The dashboard, the revenue graph, the thing the tool spits out. Show the payoff in the first two seconds, then explain how you got there. Nobody waits through a feature tour for a result they haven't seen yet.

  3. Zoom in hard

Never show a full desktop. Crop so the text and buttons are readable on a phone held at arm's length. If anyone has to squint, they're gone.

  4. Keep it slightly rough

Handheld shake, a room that isn't tidy, a plain document instead of a designed slide. A clean corporate screen recording reads as an ad. A phone pointed at a laptop reads as someone showing you something.

  5. One feature per ad

Pick the single screen that proves the value and build around it. Software has too many menus to tour in thirty seconds, and trying makes all of it forgettable.

AI Edit Master Prompt

Produce a {DURATION} vertical 9:16 UGC-style screencast ad for {PRODUCT}.

Generate the following sequence:

The Hook: A first-person POV shot using a {PHYSICAL_POINTER} (e.g., a pen) to point at a {DESIRED_OUTCOME_VISUAL} (e.g., a revenue graph) on a computer screen. Cut to a {PLANNING_VISUAL} (e.g., a calendar app) displaying a specific time-bound {GOAL_TEXT}.

The Promise: The {PHYSICAL_POINTER} directs attention to the {PRODUCT_HOMEPAGE}. Emphasize the {CORE_PROMISE} (e.g., launch in 90 days) and a strong {GUARANTEE} using on-screen text and physical pointing.

The Feature Walkthrough: A fast-paced screen recording navigating the {SOFTWARE_INTERFACE}. Use the {PHYSICAL_POINTER} to highlight specific {KEY_METRIC_1} (e.g., revenue), {KEY_METRIC_2} (e.g., winning ads), and {KEY_METRIC_3}. Demonstrate the tool's {CORE_FUNCTIONALITY} (e.g., filtering by niche).

The Transition & Social Proof: A quick, jarring cut to a POV shot of writing a {REACTION_PHRASE} (e.g., "Sounds crazy???") on a {PHYSICAL_PROP} (e.g., a notepad). Immediately cut back to the screen, scrolling through a {SOCIAL_PROOF_SECTION} (e.g., user testimonials) and highlighting a specific {IMPRESSIVE_RESULT} achieved by a user.

The Call to Action: A final shot of the {PRODUCT_HOMEPAGE} with the {PHYSICAL_POINTER} tapping the {CALL_TO_ACTION_BUTTON}.

Assemble: A rapid-fire, informal UGC-style edit. The consistent use of the {PHYSICAL_POINTER} interacting with the digital screen is crucial to guide the viewer's eye and maintain a raw, authentic feel. Keep cuts extremely tight to match the fast-paced delivery.

Text Overlay: Clean, easy-to-read {SUBTITLE_STYLE} captions centered on the screen, synced word-for-word with the audio.

Audio: A fast-paced, confident, and direct {VOICEOVER} explaining the strategy and the tool's value.

End Card: No dedicated end card; the video concludes naturally on the final call to action shot pointing at the button.

AI Edit Master Prompt

Produce a {DURATION} vertical 9:16 tech demonstration ad for {PRODUCT}.

Generate the following sequence:

The Hook: A {SPOKESPERSON_PERSONA} in a {WORKSPACE_SETTING} speaks directly and enthusiastically to the camera, claiming {PRODUCT} is unlike anything else. Cut to a screen recording of a digital document where a list of {KEY_FEATURES} is being actively typed out.

Feature 1 (The Knowledge Base): The spokesperson introduces {FEATURE_1_NAME}. Show a screencast of a user typing a complex query into the {PRODUCT_UI}. Intercut with rapid, metaphorical B-roll of {METAPHORICAL_SEARCH_VISUAL_1} (e.g., a person interacting with a futuristic hologram) and {METAPHORICAL_SEARCH_VISUAL_2} (e.g., hands flipping through a physical filing cabinet) to illustrate the software finding deep information.

Feature 2 (The Automated Manager): The spokesperson explains {FEATURE_2_NAME}. Show a screencast of generating a {AUTOMATED_REPORT_TYPE} (e.g., a team stand-up). Cut to a quick B-roll shot of a {TEAM_MEMBER_PERSONA} working diligently to emphasize time saved.

Feature 3 (Contextual Awareness): The spokesperson highlights {FEATURE_3_NAME}. Show a fast-paced screencast navigating different sections of the {PRODUCT_UI}, demonstrating how the tool adapts and provides {CONTEXTUAL_ACTION} (e.g., summarizing a specific thread or document) based on the user's location in the app.

The Pitch: Return to the {SPOKESPERSON_PERSONA} speaking directly to the camera, delivering a clear {CALL_TO_ACTION}.

Assemble: A dynamic, fast-paced mix of founder-style talking-head footage, clean screen recordings, and metaphorical B-roll. Use smooth digital zooms and highlights on the software interface to guide the viewer's eye to key actions and AI responses.

Text Overlay: Clear, easy-to-read {SUBTITLE_STYLE} captions centered on the screen, synced word-for-word with the audio. Use the in-video digital document as a structural anchor, visually checking off or highlighting the {KEY_FEATURES} as the narrative progresses.

Audio: An energetic, conversational {VOICEOVER} from the spokesperson, layered over a modern, upbeat {SOUND_BED}. Include subtle UI {SOUND_EFFECTS} (e.g., typing, clicks, and success chimes) during the screen recordings.

End Card: A clean, minimal screen with a solid {BRAND_COLOR} background displaying the {BRAND_LOGO} and a prominent, stylized {CTA_BUTTON}.
