What is it
A copy-driven video ad where kinetic text does all the work: typing, scrolling, flashing or highlighting words over a near-empty background. No creator, no product shoot, no voiceover. It works by exploiting the compulsion to finish a sentence you've started reading, so the viewer consumes the whole pitch before deciding whether they wanted to.
What makes it work
Reading pace, not video pace
The text has to land at the speed the viewer reads internally. Too fast reads as anxiety, too slow and they swipe. Test the pace on your phone with sound off before you ship anything.
The background never competes
Dark solids, heavily blurred loops, or dimmed b-roll at low opacity. If you can identify what's happening in the background, it's too loud.
One static anchor
A CTA bar, logo or offer strip that never animates. Most viewers quit mid-sentence, and the anchor is what they leave knowing.
Two fonts, maximum
One for the body, one for the anchor. Bold, high-contrast, legible at thumbnail size. Type is the entire visual, so a weak font choice has nowhere to hide.
The copy has to survive on its own
There's no charisma, no demo, no proof shot to carry a weak line. If the script isn't good read flat on a page, the ad has nothing.
